my current obsession…better than my all time favorites: fated to love you, full house, princess hours. A.N.JELL / you’re beautiful.

jang geun seok, you nail portraying hwang tae kyung. HTK, such rich character…the sweetness and jealousy despite the angst.

park shin hye, you are so cute as go mi-nam, and so beautiful as go min-nyeo.

good story, best execution i’ve seen. so new and forward.

raining in “big” scenes

i used to find it such a big coincidence that most big scenes are rain scenes. but after living in taipei, i guess nothing is really impossible! weather in Taiwan is so unpredictable that it can be so hot in one minute, and raining in another! So Taiwanese dramas showing such, i have only one thing to say….it is not a coincidence, totally believable!

coffee prince…a review (in comparison with goong and fullhouse)

i just had to write a review because i don’t want to loose the feeling. i’ve finished watching coffee prince for more than a week now and even though i’m busy and without an ergonomic keyboard, i feel the need to write. 

PLOT AND PACING

great story really. totally believable and can happen in real life. the pacing is the best out of all the dramas i’ve watched. there is ample time to show sweet scenes between the two leads, as opposed to my other favorites princess hours and full house, coffee prince, which ended abruptly and i was left asking for more “kilig” moments. (though this took the longest time to watch. i watched full house and goong in 4 days. this one maybe 6 days. probably because of it’s smooth. with full house and goong i was really left anticipating and had butterflies in my stomach i had to finish. coffee prince was more barable to delay. it is such a delight to watch it everyday.)

i also liked how they tackle sex. it was very natural, an important part of  a relationship. it further emphasized the fact that there are no more courtship nowadays. people fall in love and things just kind of fall into place. and it’s also realistic. one thing i particularly like is that there seems to be no clear scene where you can pinpoint that this was when one character liked another. it just seems  normal that feelings are added on their every encounter. (this is with regards to the relationship of han sung and eun chan and vice versa, and han gyul and eun chan and vice versa as well.) i also liked han sung’s line to han gyul that he didn’t give up new york solely because of eun chan, it’s also because he is also enjoying his work in coffee prince. i mean, han gyul is so head over heels in love with eun chan that he really could do it. but that’s not solely the reason and this reason is so realistic and not sugarcoated.

scandal in old seoul…what i think about it and the ending (spoilers)

scandal in old seoul a.k.a. capital scandal in seoul kicked off with a good start, historic 1920s set, conflict between japanese invasion and korean liberation and traditional and modern seoul.

the first few episodes were funny. i loved kang ji hwan. the middle part dragged. and han ji min and kang ji hwan proved to have no chemistry, in my opinion.

anyway, if one person was commendable, it was the actress that played cha song ju. she was sleek and cool. and her acting was pedigreed.

oh for the ending…

an irony: a SAD ending for a HAPPY woman

well i’ve been reading about a happy woman and most sentiment comes from the title, why such, when the main protagonists are unhappy. some were making comments that ji seon and dae gil are much happier even without money, that ji suk and byung gu are happier even with their bickerings, and that jong mi is the happiest of them all.

anyway, the shocking part for me is a sad ending. if that weren’t enough, it’s vague. at 58 episodes, we see ji yeon finally agreeing to be together with junho and they are all leaving for the states for jun ho’s studies. now she is already living with her in-laws. she was serving them food when she sees on TV that tae sop is in critical condition after a shoot-out incident. she was about to leaver, and jun ho, holding eun ji, asks where she is going. a momentary stop, then she rushes out of the house. that;s the ending.

c’mon! that’s no ending at all.
