IV. A NEW CHAPTER Maging Sino Ka Man 12-12-06 Eli, Jackie, JB and Celine all try to move on and start life anew. Maging Sino Ka Man The party ends with Imelda and Corazon insulting each other while Fidel admits to Jackie that he saw Monique. He also tells her to stick with JB. He has already placed his trust in him. Imelda tries to cheer up Celine up before she leaves for Amsterdam the next day. During the recommended rest by the doctors, Jackie also took up some special courses in college. JB followed her and was a very devoted boyfriend, even cooking up meals for Jackie. Celine meanwhile partied ‘til she dropped in the Netherlands.

III. THE NEW JACKIE Maging Sino Ka Man 11-28-06 Upon Dadoods request, Eloisa gives Eli a wake up call. Maging Sino Ka Man Jackie’s happiness was evident when she and her yaya Heidi got home. She felt like a huge burden was lifted off her shoulders. Fidel was looking a bit jealous so Jackie said ‘I love you’ to him several times before retiring to her room. The succeeding days were a breeze for Jackie. She was a bit odd to Heidi and the other house help but they like the new Jackie. He still follows Jackie without her daughter’s knowledge. During one of these visits, Jackie realizes the loneliness Monique felt through Siony. Monique then admits to her that she regrets the things she has done in the past.

II. JACKIE RETURNS Maging Sino Ka Man 11-17-06 Jackie makes her way back home… to the Madrigal mansion. Maging Sino Ka Man Jackie becomes confused when Celine started calling her by her real name. Celine held Jackie’s arms, as if feeling if her cousin’s real or not. Celine wanted Jackie to recognize her but her persistence instead frightened her cousin away. Jackie was in tears when she returned to Aling Bebeng. She told her and Guada about the lady who insisted she knew her. She even kept calling her another name. The two women dismissed Celine, saying someone might have just mistaken her for someone else. They hurry up Jackie to buy the gift so they can get home before Eli does. Celine tries to tell JB what he saw but something stopped her from doing so and they drive back to Manila. Jackie buys the jacket for Eli but suddenly feels a bit dizzy. Aling Bebeng tells her to sit down beside one of the stalls to rest a while. The old woman will look for Guada and return for her there. But a fire breaks in the market which makes Jackie panic. She gets knocked down unconscious. She wakes up amidst the smoke. And she now remembers everything. Jackie picks up her jacket and walks away. Bebeng and Guada fight their way back into the market but some men stop them. Jackie sat in a bus silently, tears streaming down her face. She tells the conductor that she’s going home.

I. JACKIE DIES 10-06-06 The story begins. Fate brings Eli and Jackie together. The story begins with a man carrying a child, running for his life. Shot and left for dead beside a pier, the baby is saved, floating on the water, in a vat. At a busy public market, Eli gets into trouble, getting into a fish fight with other coolies like him. Pong, his older brother gets into it too and they are reprimanded by their father, Dadoods. After getting a mouthful from his father, Eli enjoys a bath by the seaside. Another person is also enjoying herself in the tub, but with the assistance of other people. Jackie is being given a grand spa treatment. She gets dressed in an elegant gown and gets decked with the most precious jewels. Eli looks like a prince himself, walking out of their shabby house in a tuxedo. Yes, they are indeed meeting each other, but not in the way you think. Jackie is the special guest of her boyfriend JB at the inauguration of their new ship while Eli is working there as a waiter. Jackie makes a grand entrance and everyone is mesmerized with her beauty, including JB. Eli’s daydreaming halts when Celine calls his attention. She asks him to always serve drinks to a certain table. JB’s talk with Jackie gets interrupted with the presence of his mother, Corazon who introduces him to important businessmen. Jackie then feels left out and Celine sees her change in mood. Eli wishes that the lovely lady will catch his eye and she does. He gives her a smile but Jackie snobs him. This also dampens his mood. Adding to Jackie’s already foul temperament was JB’s request for her to proxy for him at a baptism when she already had plans for that day herself. He thinks that she can easily cancel on her friends, this event is much more important. After a discussion, Jackie agrees. She excuses herself and calls on Eli to get a drink. He’s surprised at Jackie’s actions – she’s downing one glass of champagne after another.
